HR Metric of the Month Jan. 2009: HR Transactional Process Cost per Employee

This metric compares the transactional process cost per employee at world-class HR organizations versus the peer group. Examining the differences in spending levels highlights opportunities for substantial savings. In just one example, world-class HR organizations, which use automation to a greater extent than the peer group, spend 44% less on payroll administration and 83% less on time and attendance. For the typical Global 1000 company, closing this gap would translate to a $3.3 million reduction in payroll administration costs and nearly $2.0 million in time and expense savings annually.
