ICV Blog: “Interview with Georg Bach on Increase in key interest rates”
Interview with Georg Bach, Managing Director Central Europe of The Hackett Group about the effects of the interest rate hike and the impact on German and European companies.
Mr. Bach, after 11 years, following the ECB decision on September 8, the key interest rate was increased to 1.25 percent. How do you rate these steps after years of zero interest rates?
An expected and overdue step to mitigate the persistently high inflation in Europe. It remains to be seen to what extent this first step will have an impact. The signal that the ECB is finally starting to give in on interest rate policy is actually good news.
