Welcome to The Hackett Group’s “Business Excelleration Podcast,” where week after week we hear from experts on how to avoid obstacles, manage detours and celebrate milestones on the journey to world-class performance. This episode is hosted by Andy Moore, associate principal for The Hackett Group. Today’s episode will discuss the OneStream Splash 2024 Conference. Andy is joined by Peter Fugere, chief strategic services officer in the Architect Factory at OneStream Software.

To begin, Peter introduces himself and the company – OneStream Software – which is a premiere leader in corporate performance management (CPM) solutions. OneStream helps companies do their financial reporting and budget consolidations and reporting. Peter has been with the company for 11 years.

The OneStream Splash Conference was held in Vegas this year, and Peter says he was impressed with the logo, advertising and signage. About 3,000 people came to the conference, and there were 12 new advances in innovation this year. His favorite products to see at the conference were the new BUX way for people to access OneStream through the web and the advances through artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

Next, Peter explains what CPM Express is and how he has worked on this project for a long time. CPM Express kicked off their first project right before the Splash conference. CPM Express is a prebuilt package to accelerate application and help customers get started. They did the heavy lifting around design and leveraging experience by creating an application that accelerates the whole timeline. CPM can usually take six to nine months to build a solution, but it takes six to eight weeks with CPM Express. You can also modify it, and he believes it will be a game-changing application. In terms of the user experience, there are a lot of things changing in the way users interact with the system. It is a dynamic scenario, and analytics take that step further with AI and the ability to create cubes and memories off of relational tables that further extend transactional reporting. There’s no charge for CPM Express, and it is packaged with the best of their solutions.

Peter says that OneStream has grown out of traditional core CPM with its three main pillars, including planning, management reporting and consolidations. OneStream has grown since then with analytics and products, and its three pillars now are core CPM, management reporting, and machine learning and AI components. By the time you’re done with a budget forecast, it may be three to four weeks old. But with business insight, you can analyze how you are performing now and look down the road at what’s coming with machine learning.

Lastly, Peter shares that he is very excited about CPM Express and the prebuilt templates and solutions to accelerate the implementation for people.
